2017-18 ERS Library Supported Student Events

Reading Revolution is a fun reading competition designed to promote literacy and the joy of reading for students in grades 4-8, regardless of ability. The goal is for students to experience a variety of quality literature and nonfiction, while increasing reading comprehension and promoting collaboration and teamwork. Teams of four students read, discuss, and practice quizzing each other in preparation for the actual competition, during which students will answer questions in a variety of formats and with varying levels of difficulty.

Young Authors' Faire offers budding writers in grades K-8 an opportunity to have their books read by others.  The books, written by students, are on display for the entire week, while visitors are invited to read and comment on them.

This event always has a great response from the community because of the hard work the students put into creating original stories and books.  An evening reception is held so that the public can meet the young authors and help them celebrate in their success.
